Mckay is Married!!!

On June 21, 2008 Mckay and Sheri were married in the St. Louis LDS Temple. It was really crazy to see my little brother married!! But I know Sheri is his perfect match, they compliment each other so well! And she is a great fit to our already somwhat crazy family!

Like I said, I have a crazy family. If you think I am wild by myself, just get me with my family and it is amplified!!! This is me and my brothers (Evan, Garrett, and Mckay)... we are "sandwiching" Mckay... or giving him a big hug... whichever you prefer.

It was a really fun trip, although very quick. Tommy, my mom, my dad, Sarah (my sister in law), baby Charlotte (the newest addition), and myself all piled into our MiniVan to make the drive. Garrett flew out but drove home with us. I was extremely suprised how comfortable we all were... it was a little tight in the back seat (two full grown adults and a carseat), but nothing terrible. Having everyone drive together (except Evan and Jeannie, who flew both ways- lucky!) made the 14 hour drive go very fast... we talked, laughed, kareoked, and of coarse slept. Since everyone was old enough to drive, we switched often; except for Tommy... he wanted to "BE MAN" (imagine him banging his chest) and drive the entire way there. It was a really fun trip, and we are so excited to have Sheri a part of our family!

(thanks Jeanie for the pics.... I can never remember my camera - and when I do the batteries are dead, like now)

Call Me Hermit (the crab of coarse)

So the last couple months I have kind of stayed to myself, haven't really done so much or talked to many people. It is kind of weird because I am usually not like this. I have several reasons...

1. So, I am totally going to blame Tate, my sister-in-law, for my "inexistance" lately. We took a suprise weekend trip to Las Vegas over Memorial Day. Tate told me I needed to read the Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer. I had heard of them before and was uninterested... But I decided to read them anyway. Well, I have to say that I love them... and reading them has instilled in me something that was NEVER there before..... A love of reading. I have read 10 books (no not picture books!) and am on my 11 since that weekend. Any chance I get I want to read. I never before understood people who LIKED reading.... and now I am one of them! I find I watch a lot less TV, which is a good thing, but I also do a lot less of other things too (like blogging!)

2. June was CRAZY!!! It felt like the whole month I was gone... oh wait a minute, I pretty much was! I was gone for 4 days at a cheerleading camp, got home for two days - just enough time to do my laundry and re-pack - to drive a FULL van (6 adults and 1 child) to St. Louis for my little brothers wedding. I was home for an entire week... yea, hard to believe... but the whole time we were planning and preparing for the open house (for my brother and new sister in law) here. Then 5 days later, we are off again to camp for the fourth of July.... Yep, that was my whole month!

3. After cheerleading camp, I shut down. We had the month of June and July off from cheerleading practice or anything related... So, I figured I was going to just chill out. Seriously, sometimes I am just sitting listening to music, doing absolutely nothing.... and absolutely Loving it!

I am sure I can come up with more reasons (I am sure) but those are the biggest reasons for my Hermit Crab behavior.... I will try to be better! :)
